니케아 신경 (The Creed of Nicaea)                     

 

우리는 천지의 창조자이며 모든 보이는 것과 보이지 아니하는 것을 만드신 한 분의 전능한 하나님 아버지를 믿습니다.

우리는 또한 하나님의 독생자이신 한 분의 주 예수 그리스도를 믿습니다.

그는 영원 전에 성부에게서 태어난 신 중의 신이며 빛 중의 빛이고 참 신 중의 참 신으로서, 창조되지 않고 출생되었으며,

모든 것을 창조하신 성부와 동일한 본질을 가지고 있으신 분입니다.

 

그는 우리 인류를 위하여, 우리 구원을 위하여 하늘에서 내려와 성령의 능력으로 동정녀 마리아에게서 육신을 받아

인간이 되었고, 우리를 위하여 본디오 빌라도에게 십자가 처형을 받았습니다.

 

그는 고난을 받고 장사되었으며, 성경대로 사흘만에 부활하여 하늘에 오르사 아버지의 우편에 앉으셨습니다.

그리고 그는 산 자와 죽은 자를 심판하러 영광중에 다시 오실 것이며, 그의 나라는 끝이 없을 것입니다.

우리는 또한 성부[와 성자]에게서 나온 생명의 부여자와 주님이신 성령을 믿습니다.

그는 성부와 성자와 함께 예배와 영광을 받으시며 거룩한 선지자들을 통해 말씀하셨습니다.

그리고 우리는 하나의 거룩하고 사도적인 세계교회를 믿습니다.

우리는 죄의 용서를 주시는 하나의 세례를 믿으며, 죽은 자의 부활과 내세의 삶을 기다립니다. 아멘.

 

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds;

God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father,

by whom all things were made.

Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary,

and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day

He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father;

and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the Father and the Son;

who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead,

and the life of the world to come. Amen.
